Description

  • Own the technical architecture and roadmap for Podium’s AI agent platform, including orchestration, tool use, memory, and reasoning systems.
  • Lead and grow an engineering team building and operating production agent systems while contributing to design, code, and incident response.
  • Build evaluation infrastructure, quality metrics, and feedback loops for measuring agent performance and preventing regressions.
  • Drive new agent capabilities from initial concept through production-scale reliability, latency, and cost optimization.
  • Partner with Product to translate business outcomes into agent capabilities and prioritized technical investments.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Platform teams on observability, model routing, latency budgets, fallbacks, cost efficiency, and guardrails.
  • Work with customers and Sales, Customer Success, and Support teams to identify field performance issues and inform the roadmap.
  • Establish practices for prompt and context engineering, agent testing, safety, guardrails, and responsible autonomous-system deployment.
  • Represent AI Agents engineering in leadership discussions and guide build-versus-buy and model-versus-vendor decisions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant engineering leadership experience as a Director, Head of Engineering, or hands-on equivalent.
  • Experience building and operating production LLM-powered or agentic systems serving real users at meaningful scale.
  • Deep knowledge of applied AI architecture, including orchestration, tool/function calling, RAG, context management, and latency, cost, and quality tradeoffs.
  • Experience building evaluation systems for non-deterministic software and measuring agent quality and regressions.
  • Experience leading both zero-to-one product development and production-scale system hardening.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills focused on business outcomes.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar.
  • Experience building customer-facing, revenue-critical agent workflows is preferred.
  • Familiarity with voice AI, conversational AI, or real-time multimodal systems is preferred.
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS or vertical software serving SMB customers, and a strong perspective on agentic AI trends, is preferred.
