Description

  • Lead the technical evolution of the Core platform, APIs, and payment integrations for Yuno’s merchant experience.
  • Own system and integration architecture for backend services and payment flows.
  • Contribute hands-on to backend development, architecture decisions, and code reviews.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and well documented for enterprise merchants.
  • Collaborate with Product, Backend, and Payments teams to align platform and merchant needs.
  • Drive engineering best practices in API design, testing, and performance.
  • Support and mentor engineers through technical guidance and architectural direction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles.
  • Advanced English proficiency; conversational Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience in payments companies or payments-related teams.
  • Deep experience in payments infrastructure, including network tokens, routing, and transaction optimization.
  • Staff-level technical leadership experience with the ability to influence architecture and mentor engineers.
  • Strong backend engineering experience with implementation and system design.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining platforms, APIs, and integrations.
  • Solid understanding of scalable architectures and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Golang, or Kotlin.
  • Experience contributing to technical decisions and code reviews.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools or LLM-powered workflows such as Claude or AI agents to improve productivity or platform capabilities.
