Description

  • Own the architecture and technical direction for vaulting, authentication, payment optimization, account updater, and portfolio migration.
  • Design and build PCI-compliant systems for tokenizing, storing, and retrieving card data.
  • Develop 3DS/SCA and network-tokenization capabilities that strengthen transactions while minimizing customer friction.
  • Create payment-optimization capabilities that improve authorization and acceptance rates.
  • Design resilient, multi-tenant, elastically scalable services with automated observability.
  • Champion a “You Build It, You Run It” model, with teams owning microservices through production.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, the CTO Office, and Staff Engineers across domains.
  • Use AI-assisted tooling across design, implementation, testing, and code review, and guide adoption within the domain.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in Go and/or Kotlin and full-stack strength.
  • Track record designing robust, scalable distributed systems, including event-driven platforms, gRPC/REST APIs, and cloud-native or serverless architectures.
  • Experience building foundational platform capabilities, ideally involving tokenization, card vaulting, 3DS/network-token authentication, or PCI-scoped infrastructure.
  • Strong AWS and cloud-native experience, including services such as RDS, ECS, EKS, and S3.
  • Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing in Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD environments.
  • Proven technical leadership in mentoring engineers, setting technical vision, delivering cross-team initiatives, and using DORA metrics.
  • Advanced written and spoken English proficiency.
  • Preferred experience with PCI DSS, card-network tokenization, 3DS/SCA, account updater services, or payment optimization.
  • Experience in global-scale payments or fintech, high-throughput performance optimization, static analysis, and mature CI/CD pipelines.
  • Spanish proficiency, open-source contributions, technical writing, or introducing engineering standards across teams are advantageous.
