Description

  • Own cross-domain architecture across risk, fraud, scams, money operations, reconciliations, and chargebacks.
  • Architect low-latency systems for real-time risk and fraud decisioning.
  • Build money movement, reconciliation, and auditable ledger systems with idempotency and exactly-once semantics.
  • Design platforms for scam prevention, disputes, and chargeback operations in line with network rules and regulations.
  • Develop highly available, compliant, bank-grade systems without compromising reliability.
  • Champion a “You Build It, You Run It” culture through multi-tenant design, elastic scaling, observability, and production ownership.
  • Use AI-assisted tools across design, implementation, testing, and code review, and guide adoption across the unit.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, Data/ML, Compliance, and other technical leaders.
  • Deliver core unit capabilities and establish technical direction through versioned APIs and event-driven design.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in Go and/or Kotlin.
  • Proven experience architecting scalable, maintainable, event-driven, high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
  • Experience building financial or risk-critical systems involving ledgers, reconciliation, real-time decisioning, or fraud/risk engines.
  • Strong AWS and cloud-native experience, including services such as RDS, ECS, EKS, and S3.
  • Excellent unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices within Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Proven technical leadership, including mentoring, setting technical vision, and delivering complex cross-team projects.
  • Advanced written and spoken English proficiency.
  • Experience with Kafka, exactly-once processing, or event sourcing preferred.
  • Payments or fintech experience at global scale, plus expertise in fraud, risk, disputes, reconciliation, or APP-scam prevention preferred.
  • Familiarity with the listed stack, including Java, gRPC, REST, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog, and GitHub Actions; Spanish and open-source or technical-writing experience are advantages.
