Description

  • Take ambiguous product ideas and turn them into concrete technical plans by asking the right stakeholders the right questions.
  • Build and ship end-to-end features across the full stack, including backend logic, APIs, data layer, frontend touches, testing, infrastructure, and rollout.
  • Work within an existing codebase to decide what to reuse, what to rebuild, and how to avoid unnecessary tech debt.
  • Anticipate second-order system effects and identify risks before they become incidents.
  • Make technical and product tradeoff decisions independently and drive work to completion.
  • Use AI tools daily to accelerate development, including writing automations and internal tools where useful.
  • Challenge AI output and product assumptions when they do not hold up.
  • Collaborate across functions as needed to clarify scope and deliver production changes.

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack engineering experience with deep comfort in Java 21, Spring, REST APIs, SQL, TypeScript, and React 19.
  • Track record of owning features or systems end-to-end rather than only executing fully specified tickets.
  • Experience navigating and improving an existing, non-trivial codebase; this is not a greenfield role.
  • Advanced, hands-on use of AI coding tools as part of a daily workflow.
  • Comfort making decisions under ambiguity and owning the outcome, whether successful or not.
  • Experience with modern frontend technologies such as Microfrontends and Module Federation, along with legacy Dart components.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, and unit/integration testing in a Java web stack.
  • Preferred backgrounds include technical founders, early startup engineers, small-company CTOs or Heads of Engineering, or senior engineers with recent open-source or side-project work.
