Description

  • Implement, train, and evaluate real-time 3D perception models using two or more cameras across one or more timesteps.
  • Deploy models on resource-constrained onboard computers and optimize compute and memory usage.
  • Build visualization, introspection, and evaluation tools to analyze model performance on test data and in the field.
  • Work closely with the motion planning team to define the interface between perception and planning systems and track the right metrics.
  • Ship new features or models to production on a fast release cadence, roughly every 6 weeks.
  • Lead architectural decisions, drive experimentation, and own outcomes for a model head or backbone at the Senior level.
  • Own roadmapping for onboard models and manage cross-functional interfaces at the Staff level.
  • Stay current with relevant research and help evolve the ML modeling stack for real-time, compute-constrained 3D perception.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience for Senior or 8+ years for Staff building and deploying deep learning-based perception systems.
  • Experience with 3D geometry, semantic segmentation, or learned multi-view stereo.
  • Strong understanding of classical computer vision, including camera calibration, epipolar geometry, structure-from-motion, and SGBM stereo.
  • Depth in robotics fundamentals, including reference frames, matrix math, SE(3) manifolds, and probabilistic sensor fusion.
  • Hands-on experience training, iterating on, and optimizing CNN and transformer architectures on target hardware such as NVIDIA Jetson-sized compute.
  • Engineering mindset focused on shipping effective solutions and scaling later when needed.
  • For Senior candidates, experience across the full ML lifecycle, including training, data annotation, evaluation, and hard mining.
  • For Staff candidates, experience influencing system design across data pipelines, training infrastructure, and compute requirements.
  • Experience with ML on hardware applications is a strong plus.
  • Willingness to engage with research, conferences, and state-of-the-art methods in 3D perception.

  • Starting cash compensation of $200,000-$240,000 for Senior and $240,000-$280,000 for Staff.
