Description

  • Own the design, implementation, rollout, and ongoing operation of major integrations and subsystems.
  • Build and maintain third-party data integrations for providers across KYB, KYC/IDV, AML, fraud, banking, and identity workflows.
  • Design, evolve, and operate Worth’s public REST APIs and SDKs with attention to versioning, backward compatibility, authentication, rate limiting, and developer experience.
  • Translate ambiguous partner specifications, customer requirements, and vendor edge cases into clear technical designs with tradeoffs.
  • Write high-quality production code across backend systems and, where needed, frontend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, and React.js.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas for vendor responses, normalization layers, and crosswalking metadata.
  • Build event-driven workflows with Kafka and Redis to handle enrichment, retries, dead-lettering, and backpressure.
  • Deploy, monitor, and debug containerized services in Kubernetes, including alerting and runbooks for vendor degradation.
  • Refactor legacy integration code into modular, testable, swappable adapters and reduce recurrence of production incidents.
  • Lead code reviews, coach teammates on integration patterns, resilience, testing, and API design, and communicate tradeoffs across technical and non-technical teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ownership of major production features or subsystems, ideally with significant integration or platform API surface area.
  • Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Strong system design skills focused on resilient integrations, including retries, idempotency, circuit breakers, rate limiting, webhook handling, and graceful degradation.
  • Experience designing or operating a public API or SDK, including versioning, authentication, contracts, and developer ergonomics.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Experience building or maintaining event-driven systems using Kafka.
  • Comfort operating containerized applications in Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to refactor complex or legacy integration code into modular, swappable, well-tested adapters.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior engineers and working effectively in high-ambiguity environments.
  • Experience integrating with KYB, KYC/IDV, AML, fraud, banking, or identity data providers is preferred.
  • Experience building and shipping a public SDK in one or more languages is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS services including MSK, RDS, EKS, S3, and Lambda is preferred.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform is preferred.
  • Strong background in distributed caching strategies using Redis is preferred.
  • Experience with Redshift schema design and ETL pipelines for vendor data is preferred.
  • Production experience with Python in backend systems is preferred.
  • Background in fintech, payments, lending, or regulated data environments is preferred.
