Description

  • Direct voice performers through scripted scenarios and coach natural, conversational delivery.
  • Create scene context and improvise dialogue or narrative details to keep sessions flowing.
  • Adapt scripts for natural phrasing and regional or dialect authenticity.
  • Monitor and correct microphone technique, pacing, clarity, levels, and background noise in real time.
  • Manage session pacing and recording targets while maintaining performance quality.
  • Document adjustments and retakes in organized session notes.
  • Create a supportive environment for performers with varying levels of experience.

Requirements

  • Native fluency in the required language and dialect, with a strong ear for colloquial phrasing.
  • Experience directing, coaching, or producing voice or audio talent, such as voice direction, podcast production, dubbing/ADR, or theater direction.
  • Ability to provide clear, specific, actionable performance direction.
  • Strong knowledge of basic recording and microphone technique, including proximity, plosives, room noise, and levels.
  • Comfort improvising and adapting scripted material during live sessions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to quickly build rapport with performers.
  • Background in improv, theater direction, or acting coaching preferred.
  • Experience directing non-professional or first-time voice talent preferred.
  • Familiarity with DAWs or recording software such as Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, or Reaper preferred.
  • Availability for approximately 8 hours of calibration plus two supervised recording sessions of about 4 hours each per participant.
