Description

  • Perform copy-editing on assigned projects or accounts.
  • Perform on-demand translation tasks.
  • Provide lead support on assigned projects or accounts.
  • Manage and maintain language materials such as glossaries, style guides, and work instructions.
  • Handle project-related queries and resolve terminology and language questions.
  • Coordinate with freelancers, agencies, and external vendors as needed.
  • Test and qualify new freelancers and vendors.
  • Train internal linguists and external partners based on account needs.
  • Interact with clients on linguistic matters.
  • Participate in developing new and improved working processes.
  • Meet or exceed productivity, on-time delivery, and quality KPIs.
  • Work toward team manager goals and account objectives.

Requirements

  • University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistic Studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • University degree in another field plus 2 years of full-time translation experience, or 5 years of full-time professional translating experience.
  • Native-level fluency in Czech.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, across a variety of registers.
  • 4+ years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.
  • 2+ years of review experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process.
  • Good working knowledge of standard software such as Windows and Office applications.
  • Experience with CAT tools such as XTM or SDL Studio, and issue tracking/query tools such as JIRA.
  • Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of terminology in two or more subject matters.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to give clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and linguists.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability and willingness to train and teach others.
  • Ability, willingness, and experience in communicating positively with customers at various levels.
  • Ability to work within a virtual team.
  • Must be located in and legally authorized to work in Spain, Italy, Romania, Greece, or Germany.
