Description

  • Develop and maintain Java-based applications on cloud-based platforms.
  • Migrate Java applications and core mail services to the cloud.
  • Identify and implement optimizations, including fine-tuning or re-architecting infrastructure.
  • Integrate applications with existing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and environments.
  • Improve the maintainability of the platform and surrounding tools.
  • Design and implement solutions that meet business requirements while ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy complex applications on AWS or GCP.
  • Lead and mentor other engineers throughout the design and development process.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of backend development experience.
  • Strong back-end software development experience using Java.
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with AWS or GCP.
  • Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with distributed systems and large-scale systems.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and knowledge of design patterns.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SQL and RDS databases.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices (nice to have).
  • Leadership experience (nice to have).
  • Ability to work full-time or part-time with ramp-up to full-time in 3-4 weeks.
  • Availability for 6+ hours of overlap with PST.
