Description

  • Serve as the CMO’s strategic finance partner and support marketing business reviews with executive narratives on performance, trade-offs, and spend-to-pipeline outcomes.
  • Own upper-funnel spend planning and governance across brand, digital, events, content, PR, and other channels.
  • Lead annual and long-range marketing finance planning, including budget development, timeline ownership, stakeholder alignment, and multi-year planning.
  • Define and monitor marketing KPIs, build dashboards, and turn performance reporting into actionable insights.
  • Partner with Marketing Ops and Finance to improve demand-generation measurement, ROI guardrails, and metric definitions.
  • Drive monthly and quarterly forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reviews for marketing spend.
  • Own marketing headcount planning with Marketing, HR, and Finance, including capacity modeling, hiring approvals, and productivity analysis.
  • Establish and manage an investment review process for major marketing initiatives and martech/vendor spend, including business cases and post-investment measurement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve attribution, incrementality, and funnel analytics, and maintain traceability from source data to revenue outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance and analytics talent supporting Marketing.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, and/or marketing finance in a high-growth B2B environment, with SaaS preferred.
  • Strong understanding of marketing and funnel economics, including upper-funnel investment levers and ROI/pipeline measurement.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence senior leaders, including CMO and VP-level stakeholders.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and governance for program and vendor/agency spend.
  • Advanced financial modeling, scenario planning, and executive storytelling skills.
  • Experience with performance measurement and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with go-to-market systems such as Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with martech and attribution concepts is a plus.
  • Experience leading and developing direct or matrixed teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree is a plus.
