Description

  • Design, build, and scale REST APIs and large-scale data processing pipelines that handle high-volume datasets across distributed systems.
  • Architect and optimize backend services for high-throughput and low-latency performance.
  • Develop data-intensive and event-driven applications using Python, Typescript, C#, and AWS-native services.
  • Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability across microservices and cloud infrastructure.
  • Partner with senior engineers, architects, DevOps, and QA across the full development lifecycle.
  • Mentor developers, lead code reviews, and raise engineering quality standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and clearly document technical solutions and decisions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
  • 3+ years of experience with Typescript, Node.js, or C#.
  • Advanced experience with AWS services such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, and Step Functions.
  • Experience working with large datasets, distributed computing, and batch or stream processing using tools such as Spark, Dask, EMR, Glue, or Kafka.
  • Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, scalability patterns, and cloud architecture.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, document solutions clearly, and participate in technical discussions with stakeholders.
  • Experience with data-intensive, event-driven systems is required.
  • Experience in a Staff Engineer or similar senior-level role is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $104,300 to $130,000 CAD.
