Description

  • Build, deploy, and monitor backend applications for ChowNow’s platform.
  • Work closely with product and cross-functional teams to deliver new features with a strong focus on quality.
  • Read, write, and use internal documentation and proposals to support development and communication.
  • Test features and systems, and help ensure high-quality, well-tested, resilient releases.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of development processes, CI/CD, and deployment practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve bugs, performance issues, and scaling bottlenecks in production.
  • Contribute to platform architecture, new systems, optimizations, and feature design with the team.
  • Support end-to-end ownership of systems or components, including operations and availability.
  • Help review and improve system observability, security, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Participate in hiring interviews and help grow the engineering team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building SaaS products, e-commerce platforms, or similar online systems.
  • Expertise in Python.
  • Experience designing and versioning public or partner-facing APIs with backward compatibility in mind.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with containerized deployments.
  • Experience building event-driven or asynchronous systems such as message queues or background job processing.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving production performance issues such as slow queries, memory leaks, or scaling bottlenecks.
  • Comfort with transparency and open communication within teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Passion for observability, process improvements, CI/CD, and deployment frequency.
  • Ability to use AI development tools effectively while applying good judgment about when human review is needed.
