Description

  • Own the XR platform roadmap by analyzing market trends and identifying emerging platforms for investment.
  • Negotiate with global hardware partners and manage platform-level dependencies to maintain stability.
  • Author strategy documents and communicate technical platform direction clearly to internal and external audiences.
  • Partner with R&D to evolve engine support for XR platforms, including AI-driven authoring and internal tooling.
  • Represent Unity’s platform vision at XR industry conferences and in partner and customer briefings.
  • Work closely with engineering and R&D to keep Unity’s XR capabilities ahead of the curve.
  • Close critical dependency gaps and stabilize existing XR platform support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external hardware partners.
  • Drive execution from strategy through shipping across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Proven track record shipping complex technical products such as middleware, operating systems, developer tools, or large-scale platform integrations.
  • Experience managing external partner relationships and influencing internal stakeholders across a large organization.
  • Technical fluency in APIs, rendering pipelines, and hardware abstraction.
  • Ability to untangle complex cross-functional dependencies and drive execution from strategy to shipping.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical roadmaps into compelling narratives.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Unity or another major game engine is preferred.
  • Experience integrating AI tools into developer or creative workflows is preferred.
  • Background in developer advocacy, conference speaking, or partner-facing platform evangelism is preferred.
  • Must have sufficient English proficiency for frequent professional written and verbal communication with global colleagues and partners.
  • Relocation support is not available for this position.
  • Work visa or immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
