Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and data science managers and their teams.
  • Own the technical strategy, architecture, and multi-quarter roadmap for the data platform and Insights product line.
  • Establish engineering and analytical standards for code review, testing, CI/CD, model validation, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Guide architecture across data pipelines, lakehouse or warehouse platforms, and applied data science/ML workflows in AWS.
  • Manage capacity planning, prioritization, dependencies, and delivery risks across multiple teams.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, UX, Analytics, and Application Engineering leaders to translate business strategy into scalable technical plans.
  • Represent the data organization with executive stakeholders and report on goals and key performance indicators.
  • Define career ladders, performance standards, succession plans, and development paths for managers and senior individual contributors.
  • Recruit and hire engineering and data science talent, including manager-level candidates.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, data engineering, and/or data science, including multi-team leadership.
  • 5+ years of people management experience, including managing managers or senior individual contributors.
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare, digital health, or health technology using Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success building complex software and data products in healthcare and/or government environments.
  • Experience with data pipeline architectures such as Apache Airflow and large-scale databases or cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks.
  • Experience with performance tuning and cost management for data platforms.
  • Working knowledge of applied data science and ML workflows integrated with production data platforms.
  • Strong programming knowledge, including SQL and Python.
  • Experience operating in regulated or compliance-sensitive data environments.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical strategy to executive audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Remote, U.S.-based availability; preference for ET or CT time zones, with 5–10% travel.
  • Successful completion of criminal, employment, and education background checks.
