Description

  • Own the Android SDK architecture, implementation, and long-term technical direction.
  • Own the Android SDK technical backlog and architectural roadmap.
  • Lead development and maintenance of the Android Voice and Video SDKs, including the underlying WebRTC/ReSiprocate/C++ layer.
  • Drive build pipeline stability and participate in CI/CD migration efforts.
  • Define Android best practices and serve as the go-to resource for Android guidance across the organization.
  • Collaborate with iOS, JavaScript, and React Native SDK teams on cross-platform convergence efforts.
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain high standards for quality, correctness, and test coverage.
  • Partner with product and platform leads to assess feasibility, estimate effort, and deliver roadmap commitments.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to reduce single points of failure.
  • Monitor and triage customer issues, Git repo issues, and improve the Android reference apps.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on Android development.
  • Deep expertise in the Android ecosystem and SDK development, including understanding third-party SDK expectations.
  • Experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebRTC, SIP, and RTP is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and C++.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as CircleCI, Buildkite, and GitHub Actions, plus mobile build pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
  • Familiarity with Claude and GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience with ReSiprocate or other SIP stacks (desired).
  • Prior work on public-facing developer SDKs (desired).
  • Familiarity with supply chain security practices for mobile SDKs (desired).
  • Experience with Argo CD (desired).
  • Role is remote but not eligible for hire in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, or WA.
