Description

  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to turn ambiguous business problems into a prioritized ML product roadmap.
  • Contribute hands-on technical expertise while providing strategic direction and mentorship as a player-coach leader.
  • Establish a high-performing engineering environment for rapid iteration, experimentation, and model deployment.
  • Improve team processes, tooling, and infrastructure to increase velocity, quality, and maintainability.
  • Track developments in ML and AI research, techniques, and tools and guide appropriate adoption.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop a diverse team of Machine Learning Engineers.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure the impact and success of ML products.
  • Communicate results, progress, and updates clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage project timelines, dependencies, and risks to deliver reliable and scalable ML solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Applied ML or AI.
  • 3+ years of experience leading Machine Learning Engineers or data scientists.
  • Proven experience defining and executing a multi-year technical vision for a large-scale, complex ML platform or product.
  • Deep expertise in designing, architecting, and deploying production-grade ML/AI systems.
  • Strong knowledge of LLM orchestration, embedding models, and vector stores.
  • Extensive experience with ML Ops and LLM Ops patterns, including designing evaluation metrics for non-deterministic AI features at scale.
  • Strong background building cloud-based services using AWS, GCP, or Azure and managing high-volume data and multiple data stores.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and scaling high-performing ML or engineering teams.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to mentor engineers and influence product direction.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Statistics from a top-tier university, preferred.
  • Relevant publications at top ML conferences or significant open-source contributions, preferred.
  • Experience working on conversational AI agents, preferred.
  • Experience working in a geographically distributed setting, preferred.
