Description

  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable features across Toast’s enterprise management products.
  • Lead complex projects that improve functionality and reliability for customers.
  • Partner with teams across Toast to deliver product initiatives.
  • Build automated tests to ensure quality of changes.
  • Roll out features to customers and monitor their success.
  • Collaborate with UX and product management on feature definition and design.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building backend services and APIs.
  • Extensive experience with an object-oriented language such as Java or Kotlin.
  • Deep understanding of testing, quality, and best practices.
  • Experience shipping production services while balancing delivery speed with platform stability and reliability.
  • Experience building backend services and APIs and scaling distributed systems.
  • Experience building Android applications with Kotlin is a plus.
  • Experience building front-end applications is a plus.
  • Excellent cross-team communication skills for complex technical topics.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment with a shared codebase.
  • Focused on delivering positive impact for Toast customers.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $115,000 to $165,000 CAD.
  • Competitive cash compensation, including overtime and bonus/commissions if eligible.
