Description

  • Design, build, and harden product features in a compliance-regulated cloud environment with a focus on security controls, data privacy, and auditability.
  • Build AWS GovCloud-specific capabilities such as federal authentication methods, audit and compliance tooling, and tenant operation and auditing features.
  • Create abstractions and developer tooling that let engineers build and test government-cloud features without direct GovCloud access.
  • Improve observability, logging, and deployment workflows so product features work seamlessly across commercial and government cloud environments.
  • Analyze the application for security gaps and implement changes needed to meet government standards.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product teams to align timelines and translate compliance requirements into engineering solutions.
  • Mentor other engineers on secure design patterns and building for regulated environments.
  • Support self-hosted federal customers in the CMMC environment, including escalations and long-running support cases as part of on-call duties.
  • Use Tines internally to automate compliance workflows such as vulnerability tracking, change control documentation, and incident response runbooks.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to determine which capabilities need to be adapted or constrained for government deployments.

Requirements

  • Roughly 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proven track record as a senior software engineer.
  • Experience building and delivering software in a high-level programming language.
  • Hands-on coding ability in an interview setting.
  • Experience in compliance-regulated or security-sensitive environments is a strong plus.
  • Ability to reason about application-layer security, including encryption, access control, audit logging, and data retention.
  • Comfort working broadly across the stack and contributing wherever needed.
  • Customer-obsessed approach with willingness to investigate root causes in unfamiliar systems.
  • Familiarity with simple, common tools such as Ruby, Rails, React, TypeScript, Postgres, Redis, AWS CDK, and Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and perform work while located within the United States.
