Description

  • Design, build, and run cloud-native Go microservices for the real-time payments platform.
  • Develop highly available, low-latency, and scalable systems that handle billions of payment requests.
  • Own services end to end from initial design and implementation through deployment and production support.
  • Improve service resilience, simplify complex systems, and reduce operational risk.
  • Enhance existing payment capabilities and build new functionality without compromising stability.
  • Work with a strong focus on observability, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers, product teams, and operational stakeholders.
  • Apply careful testing, release, and operational practices to changes in mission-critical systems.
  • Contribute to a flat, autonomous team with an emphasis on code quality and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of designing and building distributed systems.
  • Experience with Go.
  • Familiarity with cloud and containerisation technologies.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working on complex, critical software where high performance and robustness are essential.
  • Interest in owning projects end to end and supporting them through production.
  • Appreciation of clean code and software engineering best practices.
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Experience with modern infrastructure and platform tools such as Kubernetes, CockroachDB, and NATS JetStream is preferred.
  • A "right tool for the job" mindset is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary of €90,000-€140,000 in Germany, €85,000-€125,000 in the Netherlands, €65,000-€95,000 in Portugal and Spain, or £80,000-£120,000 in the UK.
