Description

  • Manage, coach, and develop up to eight engineers, establishing the organization’s first layer of engineering management.
  • Contribute hands-on to code, architecture, and technical design, initially balancing approximately 40% individual contribution and 60% management.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership to modernize the engineering operating model and implement effective development practices.
  • Design and implement CI/CD, automated testing, code review, feature flagging, and static code analysis practices.
  • Champion responsible use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering velocity and code quality.
  • Establish clear engineering expectations, standards, and improvement-focused team ceremonies.
  • Guide engineers to own systems from conception and delivery through deployment and production support.
  • Partner with Product and Design to translate business goals into technical plans, manage dependencies, and ensure execution.
  • Build scalable, maintainable software and drive measurable improvements in engineering KPIs.
  • Foster psychological safety, collaboration, continuous learning, and sustainable end-to-end system ownership.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of people-management experience leading engineering teams.
  • Experience operating or leading teams using CI/CD, automated testing, and short release cycles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of C# .NET, React, cloud-native systems design, or modern CI/CD and platform engineering toolchains.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools within disciplined engineering practices.
  • Track record of driving process improvements in CI/CD, testing, quality assurance, or other SDLC toolchains.
  • Ability to balance organizational strategy with hands-on technical execution.
  • Experience coaching and developing engineers, including experienced team members.
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment in balancing scope, quality, delivery speed, and long-term technical health.

  • US base pay range of $180,000–$220,000 USD.
