Description

  • Build and maintain TypeScript and Python backend services and REST APIs.
  • Design and operate batch data pipelines with orchestration, testing, and data-quality checks.
  • Develop LLM-powered features, including prompts, retrieval, structured outputs, and evaluations for accuracy, latency, and cost.
  • Extract structured data from scanned documents using OCR and LLMs.
  • Containerize, deploy, monitor, and support cloud services through an on-call rotation.
  • Write tests, review code, and document systems and features.
  • Partner with product, operations, and data teams to scope work and deliver frequent incremental releases.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent.
  • Strong TypeScript and Python skills, with solid SQL proficiency.
  • Production experience building REST APIs in Node.js or Python, such as Express, NestJS, FastAPI, or Django.
  • Experience with background jobs, queues, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and CI/CD.
  • Experience building batch data pipelines with Airflow, Dagster, or dbt, including data-quality testing.
  • Experience shipping an LLM-powered feature to users and measuring output quality.
  • Experience with LLM APIs, prompt design, and production observability through logging, metrics, and alerting.
  • Clear written communication and ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-engineers.
  • Experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot across the development lifecycle (preferred).
  • Experience handling sensitive data under compliance programs such as SOC 2, or owning systems end to end in a small-team environment (preferred).
