Description

  • Analyze data from multiple databases and sources to drive optimization of quality outcomes, resource utilization, and risk adjustment.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance predictive models that improve product performance in quality, risk, and operational efficiency.
  • Design and implement custom data models, algorithms, and ETL pipelines for large-scale datasets.
  • Use predictive modeling and statistical analysis to increase and optimize patient outcomes, patient experience, and business outcomes such as risk adjustment opportunities.
  • Explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, LLMs, foundation models) to evaluate applicability for healthcare problems and operational workflows.
  • Develop analytic datasets and perform statistical analyses using appropriate software and tools.
  • Create queries and visualizations using third-party software tools and collaborate with analytics/engineering teams to integrate models into products.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement models, monitor outcomes, detect drift, and iterate on production performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, epidemiology, engineering, information science, computer science, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis software, with data science experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Git/GitHub, Python, SQL, statistics, and ML modeling.
  • Hands-on experience writing Python code for machine learning, data science/engineering, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Track record of applying AI or ML models to solve practical, real-world problems—ideally in healthcare or similarly complex domains.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing large, complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and data mining methods such as hypothesis testing/A-B testing, distribution analysis, Bayesian estimation, linear and logistic regression, GLMs, text mining, and time series analysis.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques including feature engineering for large-scale data, dimensionality reduction, clustering, decision trees/random forests/gradient-boosted trees, and deep learning.
  • Knowledge of ML implementation strategies such as model evaluation in production, detecting data/covariate/concept drift, using feature stores and model registries, deploying models as REST APIs, and integrating models into products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication for cross-team coordination.
  • Nice to have: experience in healthcare settings, familiarity with Epic EMR data, and experience with healthcare financials/claims.
