Description

  • Drive development of Obsidian's core ontology for unified security configuration analysis, AI security, and threat detection.
  • Scale the ontology across a team of 3-6 software engineers and data scientists to support hundreds or thousands more enterprise application platforms.
  • Drive automation of repeatable research and development subtasks.
  • Become an expert in identity, authentication, authorization, network, and data security concepts.
  • Formulate security problems as data and machine learning problems.
  • Collaborate with top security teams at Global 1000 companies to refine customer outcomes.
  • Dive into vendor documentation, APIs, and audit logs to identify necessary data sources.
  • Design and run statistically rigorous experiments to break down ambiguous problems into well-scoped subproblems.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied research.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferred.
  • Track record of shipping production ML or data systems at scale.
  • Experience with ontologies, knowledge graphs, entity resolution, or semantics over heterogeneous data sources, preferred.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with modern ML and data tooling.
  • Working knowledge of core security domains, or a strong ability to learn.
  • Ability to decompose ambiguous, ambitious problems into well-scoped subproblems and design rigorous experiments.
  • Comfort working scrappily with vendor documentation, APIs, and audit logs to find data sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage credibly with technical security practitioners at large enterprises.
