Description

  • Analyze data from multiple databases to improve quality outcomes, resource utilization, and risk adjustment.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms for large datasets.
  • Build predictive models to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, risk adjustment opportunities, and other business outcomes.
  • Explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies for healthcare and operational workflows.
  • Develop analytic datasets and use statistical software to analyze data as requested.
  • Use third-party tools to create queries and visualizations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Ask novel, data-driven questions and drive new analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, epidemiology, engineering, information science, computer science, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Hands-on experience writing Python code, including machine learning, data science and engineering, and ETL pipelines.
  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis software, with data science experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience with GitHub/Git, Python, SQL, statistics, and ML modeling.
  • Track record of applying AI or ML models to practical, real-world problems, ideally in healthcare or similar complex domains.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and data mining methods, including hypothesis testing, distribution analysis, Bayesian estimation, linear and logistic regression, GLMs, text mining, and time series analysis.
  • Knowledge of traditional machine learning techniques such as feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, clustering, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosted decision trees, and deep learning.
  • Knowledge of ML implementation strategies, including production evaluation, drift detection, feature stores, model registries, REST API deployment, and product integration.
  • Interest in staying current on AI advancements such as generative AI, LLMs, and foundation models, with enthusiasm for applying them in analytical workflows.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL querying on large, complex datasets for data analysis and analytics engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on data analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across teams.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Experience with Epic EMR data is preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare financials and claims is preferred.
