Description

  • Serve as a key member of the platform account team and help define customer strategy for complex opportunities.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-level executives and technical decision makers to provide business and technical guidance.
  • Understand customer business objectives and design Stripe solutions, future roadmaps, and architectures to address them.
  • Conduct business analysis and research on customers, industries, and competitors.
  • Lead strategy engagements, customer discovery, executive briefings, readouts, presentations, and solution demos to win technical approval.
  • Expand Stripe’s footprint within existing accounts across new markets and business units.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by sharing insights and opportunities with leadership, product, and engineering teams.
  • Participate in sales forecasting, quarterly business reviews, and account or territory planning.
  • Provide technical insight and pre-sales support for prospective and existing platform users.
  • Manage pre-sales projects, including proof of concept development and feasibility checks.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role such as solutions consultant, solutions architect, or sales engineer for a global software enterprise.
  • Executive engagement skills with the ability to build credibility and strong relationships at all levels.
  • Experience facilitating group discussions and leading customer meetings to advance opportunities.
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architecture.
  • Outstanding spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of Connect, Stripe’s platform payments solution, including its features and integration methods.
  • Knowledge of Stripe Payments and Billing systems and how they apply across different business models.
  • Ability to understand how ERP, CRM, Billing, Tax, and legacy systems interact within a platform ecosystem.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to juggle competing priorities across multiple customers and opportunities.
  • Preferred: experience as a domain expert in payments, presenting and architecting solutions for platform customers.
  • Preferred: prior experience driving technical sales with enterprise-scale platforms and supporting unique customer requirements.
  • Preferred: experience integrating Stripe or other RESTful APIs into web applications.
  • Preferred: experience in systems design, building and deploying complex applications.
  • Preferred: experience helping customers adopt and consume software in a cloud model.
  • Preferred: ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and develop a path forward with customers.
  • Preferred: strategic and creative thinking with a proactive, positive approach to challenges.
  • Preferred: strong collaboration skills for working with extended teams.
