Description

  • Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and navigate integration and UX tradeoffs.
  • Deliver solutions through Speechify’s cross-platform SDK.
  • Optimize existing functionality to improve speed and parsing through better abstractions and algorithms.
  • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
  • Work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to design clear, reliable APIs and simple systems.
  • Help maintain the foundational services and SDKs that support Speechify’s product experience across platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a similar engineering role.
  • Strong systems thinking and an end-to-end approach to optimization and design.
  • Ability to work quickly, evaluate tradeoffs, and decide what can ship now versus what needs more time.
  • Comfort working in a busy, remote, high-growth startup environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with designers, marketers, and product managers.
  • Preferred experience with Kotlin Multiplatform; Java experience is acceptable but the role is focused on Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Prior experience with GCP is a plus.
  • Ability to provide links to a portfolio and LinkedIn when applying.
