Description

  • Lead technical discovery and solution architecture for AI opportunities.
  • Produce solution-grade proposals, including architecture, scope, and risk assessments.
  • Present AI solutions to clients and partner with Business Development on positioning and differentiation.
  • Build reusable pre-sales assets such as reference architectures, case studies, and estimation frameworks.
  • Stand up and operate the AI Studio as the primary platform for AI-heavy work.
  • Own delivery across full-project engagements, component delivery, advisory work, and embedded expertise.
  • Build reusable delivery frameworks and accelerators.
  • Manage cross-team resource collaboration during the ramp-up phase.
  • Hire and scale the AI team from 2–3 engineers in the first 6 months to 5–8 based on demand.
  • Define team composition and career paths that attract and retain strong AI engineers.
  • Lead pragmatic R&D efforts with clear objectives and success criteria.
  • Contribute to the AI community through tech talks, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop external thought leadership through conference talks, case studies, and publications.
  • Connect AI Studio work with Sales, Marketing, and Account Management.
  • Collaborate with L&D to expand AI education across the engineering organization.

Requirements

  • Production experience designing and delivering AI systems, including LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows.
  • Experience with AI systems beyond proofs of concept.
  • Strong understanding of AI technology boundaries and architectural trade-offs.
  • Proven client-facing experience leading discovery, scoping solutions, and presenting to executive and technical audiences.
  • Consultancy mindset with the ability to use discovery and analysis as part of value delivery.
  • Team leadership experience managing 3–5+ people, with evidence of team members growing under their leadership.
  • Experience working in matrix or federated organizations without direct authority.
  • Pragmatic R&D skills, including bounded research plans, clear success criteria, and ROI discipline.
  • Data architecture literacy, including data pipelines, ETL/ELT patterns, vector databases, data quality, and governance.
  • Ability to design end-to-end AI solutions and direct data engineering work.
  • Broader AI/ML background beyond GenAI, including classical ML, deep learning, computer vision, or NLP.
  • Understanding of sales cycles, marketing positioning, and account management dynamics.
  • Recognized technical authority respected by senior AI practitioners.
  • Passion for training and enablement, with a strong orientation toward knowledge sharing.
  • Marketing and positioning savvy to create technical content for market differentiation.
  • Experience with technology vendor partnerships and co-marketing is beneficial.
  • Startup or 0→1 experience is nice to have.
  • Academic or research connections in AI are nice to have.
  • Distributed team experience across cultures is nice to have.
