Description

  • Design antennas for communications and sensing applications across VHF through Ka-band.
  • Build and characterize antenna, feed, and front-end prototypes.
  • Develop measurement systems to support antenna and RF design work.
  • Analyze wireless systems including antenna isolation, radiation patterns, and propagation effects.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, production, and integration teams to improve RF manufacturing, mechanical integration, and testability.
  • Own communications work from the FPGA/modem baseband through the RF and antenna passband.
  • Support system integration, test, and flight operations analysis as needed.
  • Contribute to work on both Starship orbital vehicles and HLS lunar mission communications and sensing systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of relevant professional or project experience with antennas or RF systems.
  • 1+ years of experience with 3D electromagnetic simulation tools.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline with emphasis in electromagnetic theory and/or microwave circuits preferred.
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on electromagnetics or circuits preferred.
  • Experience with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, and RF passive components.
  • Proficiency with RF concepts including impedance matching, linear and aperture antennas, Smith charts, power handling metrics, microwave network analysis, and RF filter design.
  • Experience with near-field or far-field chamber design and operation.
  • Experience with electrical schematic capture software such as Altium or Orcad.
  • Experience with electromagnetics simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, or Savant, including tradeoffs among FEM, MoM, FDTD, and PO methods.
  • Familiarity with mainstream RF circuit simulation tools such as AWR, ADS, or Genesys.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ for data analysis or test equipment interfacing.
  • Basic CAD skills for prototype designs and working directly with mechanical engineers.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization under ITAR.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $125,000 to $145,000 for Antenna Engineer Level I.
  • Base salary range of $145,000 to $175,000 for Antenna Engineer Level II.
  • 10% active-clearance pay differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, once briefed into a classified program.
