Description

  • Design, implement, and operate control system infrastructure for utility-scale energy storage projects.
  • Program PPC, HMI, and RTU systems and maintain related technical documentation.
  • Support day-to-day plant automation activities to maintain reliability, availability, and serviceability.
  • Provide technical support for complex work orders, tickets, and operational technology issues.
  • Analyze and resolve complex control system and operation technology problems.
  • Oversee network technology upgrades and expansion projects, including hardware and software installation and integration testing.
  • Participate in on-site construction and plant commissioning activities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for control and instrumentation systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external EPC vendors during bidding and execution phases.

Requirements

  • Minimum BA/BS in a related field; electrical engineering degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of related industry experience, with renewable energy industry experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of battery energy storage system use cases, including primary frequency response, fast frequency response, and black start, is highly preferred.
  • Experience designing and maintaining plant control systems using SCADA and PLC platforms.
  • Understanding of data logging requirements and historian platforms.
  • Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition.
  • Experience with Schneider Electric Modicon PLCs, SEL RTACs, and Novatech Orions.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as DNP3.0, Modbus, OPC-UA, and MQTT.
  • Programming experience with Python, IEC 61131-3, C, C++, or C#.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including IT/OT standards and NERC/CIP/NIST procedures.
  • Ability to write technical specifications for process or manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to explain complex technical analysis to management and external parties.
  • Experience working effectively in cross-functional teams with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
