Description

  • Serve as a trusted strategic lead for high-profile client accounts and counsel senior executives.
  • Develop long-term PR plans aligned with client business objectives and manage difficult client conversations when needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments and draft proactive communications during client crises.
  • Interview executives and build thought leadership platforms that translate complex technical topics into media-friendly narratives.
  • Oversee account health, revenue forecasting, resource allocation, client contracts, KPIs, and monthly and annual scopes of work.
  • Build integrated media, analyst, and social engagement strategies and maintain editorial quality across accounts.
  • Leverage relationships with Tier-1 national business and trade media to secure coverage opportunities.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts to support organic growth and client retention.
  • Directly manage, coach, and develop team members through goal setting and training.
  • Lead adoption of emerging PR technologies and alternative communication channels, with broader agency leadership responsibilities at the Senior Account Director level.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive PR and marketing experience for the Account Director level.
  • At least 2 years of experience serving as the strategic account lead for multiple complex clients.
  • Deep experience in Enterprise Tech and the ability to translate technical capabilities for broad audiences.
  • A proven track record of securing Tier-1 national business and industry trade media opportunities.
  • 10-12+ years of progressive agency and/or in-house communications marketing experience for the Senior Account Director level.
  • Extensive experience leading teams and managing high-profile accounts.
  • Global account management experience navigating international media landscapes is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to independently develop multi-layered strategies from loose executive direction.
  • Strong understanding of agency operations, budget management, resource allocation, and team utilization constraints.
  • Comfort leading difficult staff conversations, partnering with HR on team issues, and executing Performance Improvement Plans when necessary.
