Description

  • Develop and manage a multi-tenant cloud strategy for the managed services offering.
  • Create cloud reference architectures for different deployment topologies.
  • Document architectural principles and standardize infrastructure specifications.
  • Assess, design, implement, automate, and document cloud security solutions and processes.
  • Partner with Security Operations to define and implement cloud security best practices.
  • Establish baseline cloud, container, and application security standards with key stakeholders.
  • Build cost and utilization tracking and attribution processes across cloud providers.
  • Drive proof-of-concepts and technology evaluations for emerging and best-of-breed solutions.
  • Produce detailed architecture and transition documentation, including designs, diagrams, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and support project delivery from initiation through implementation.
  • Lead executive briefings on roadmap direction, technology choices, and business fit.
  • Evangelize cloud strategy and best practices across senior management and internal teams.
  • Work with Operations to remove technical blockers and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect securing cloud solutions across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or another IT-related field.
  • 5+ years of experience identifying security issues, assessing risk, and developing mitigation plans for audit requirements.
  • Deep experience with hyperscalers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus interconnect/colo providers.
  • Strong understanding of application architectures and how to move or refactor them in the cloud.
  • Experience presenting complex technical architectures and market potential to both C-suite and deep technical audiences.
  • Formal certification in one of the major cloud platforms, including Azure Security Certification.
  • Extensive experience securing operating systems, firewalls, networks, systems, databases, and application architectures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, ISO, and HITRUST and how they affect design decisions.
  • Experience with cloud security tools and technologies such as antivirus, IDS/IPS, WAFs, NSG, ExpressRoute, and application firewalls.
  • Strong networking and security expertise, including cloud services such as databases, containers, compute, storage, and serverless.
  • Experience with database engine performance management for systems such as MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
  • Experience with identity protocols such as PIM, OAuth, and OpenID.
  • Experience with threat modeling.
  • Data center architecture experience, including routing, switching, firewalls, server virtualization, storage, and internet connectivity.
  • Highly responsive, customer-first, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple projects in parallel.
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration, leadership, mentoring, communication, and interpersonal networking skills.
