Description

  • Navigate complex government procurement processes and sales cycles.
  • Respond to RFPs and RFQs and tailor proposals to agency requirements.
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers in state and local government agencies.
  • Stay current on government regulations and software procurement compliance requirements.
  • Run a solution-based sales process across multiple groups within large accounts.
  • Prospect new business opportunities within existing customers and across multiple departments and agencies.
  • Expand Smartsheet’s footprint within agencies and drive renewal growth.
  • Present and demonstrate Smartsheet’s organizational solutions and functional value.
  • Build territory pipeline, executive awareness, and bookings growth.
  • Partner with Sales Engineers, Solutions Consultants, Sales Development, and Customer Success through the full sales cycle.
  • Use sales enablement tools and CRM data to forecast pipeline and sales activity.
  • Manage customer relationships from pre-sale through renewal.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of full-cycle sales experience from prospecting to close in a technology-oriented field; SaaS experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience selling to State and Local Government agencies.
  • Experience maintaining B2B customer relationships.
  • Experience prospecting and managing a designated territory to maximize revenue growth.
  • Ability to research accounts to uncover upsell opportunities and multi-thread across an organization.
  • Data-driven sales approach that informs process and customer guidance.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and operate in a self-directed, resourceful manner.
  • Strong relationship management skills with experience engaging senior-level management.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ideal candidate will be based in Columbus.
  • Experience with government procurement, RFPs, and RFQs is implied by the role and highly relevant.
  • Experience with SaaS sales tools and sales enablement platforms is beneficial.
