Description

  • Navigate complex higher education and school district procurement processes and sales cycles.
  • Identify and engage stakeholders across colleges and universities, including executive, IT, academic, and administrative leaders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with CIOs, IT directors, procurement officers, and other senior decision-makers.
  • Travel onsite for executive presentations, user group presentations, and industry events as needed.
  • Tailor sales presentations and proposals to the specific needs of higher education institutions and school districts.
  • Develop and prospect new business opportunities within existing customers and across multiple departments.
  • Expand Smartsheet’s footprint within accounts to drive revenue growth and renewals.
  • Facilitate collaboration with Sales Engineers, Solutions Consultants, Sales Development, and Customer Success teams to close business.
  • Use sales enablement tools and CRM data to forecast pipeline and track sales activity.
  • Manage customer relationships from pre-sale through renewal across multiple functional groups.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of full-cycle sales experience, from prospecting to close, in a technology-oriented field.
  • SaaS sales experience is highly preferred but not required.
  • Proven success વેચing into state and local government, K-12, or higher education institutions.
  • Experience with RFPs, procurement cycles, and government contracting vehicles such as NASPO, GSA, and DIR.
  • Ability to travel as needed within the assigned region.
  • Experience prospecting and managing a designated territory to maximize revenue growth.
  • Ability to research accounts to identify up-sell opportunities and multi-thread across the organization.
  • Data-driven sales approach with strong self-direction and resourcefulness.
  • Strong relationship management skills with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
