Description

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support HL7v2 healthcare integrations across Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, and other EHR platforms.
  • Own interface platform configuration, administration, monitoring, upgrades, and production operations.
  • Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams on AWS hosting, networking, VPNs, TLS certificates, HTTPS endpoints, and secure connectivity.
  • Maintain integration reliability and availability through monitoring, safe change practices, capacity planning, and performance management.
  • Establish reusable components, configuration standards, testing practices, deployment processes, and technical documentation.
  • Lead production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, message recovery, reprocessing, and durable remediation.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call and Tier 3 support rotation.
  • Support customer implementations, connectivity setup, technical escalations, and production issues.
  • Collaborate with Integration Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Product, and customer technical teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of healthcare integration experience building, deploying, and supporting hospital HL7v2 interfaces at scale.
  • Deep hands-on experience with enterprise interface engines, including routes, endpoints, filters, transformations, mappings, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience owning or administering a production interface engine.
  • Expert knowledge of HL7v2 message structures, trigger events, acknowledgements, sequencing, transformations, and error handling.
  • Strong JavaScript experience for message transformation and workflow logic; Python or other scripting experience is preferred.
  • Working proficiency with SQL for validation, troubleshooting, and operational analysis.
  • Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical platforms in AWS or comparable cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, MLLP, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and secure connectivity.
  • Ability to troubleshoot failures across interface engines, HL7, applications, networks, infrastructure, and external systems.
  • Preferred experience with Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, Corepoint, InterSystems, FHIR, SFTP, X12, REST, SOAP, CI/CD, automated testing, and capacity planning.

  • $185,000–$215,000 base salary plus bonus potential.
