Description

  • Design and build scalable, high-availability systems and APIs.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise web applications.
  • Work across backend and frontend development to deliver product enhancements.
  • Apply REST API design principles when developing software solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience developing enterprise web applications.
  • Experience working on public clouds, with GCP preferred and AWS or Azure also acceptable.
  • Proficiency in backend web development using TypeScript, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with frontend development using JavaScript frameworks or libraries such as React.
  • Ability to work with multiple languages.
  • Proven ability to adapt to different technologies and frameworks.
  • Relational database skills with MySQL or other RDBMS databases.
  • Knowledge of REST API design principles.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and organisations.
  • Ability to coach developers and get the best out of colleagues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and debugging ability.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • A Computer Science or Software Engineering degree, or equivalent minimum tertiary qualification.
  • Previous work experience in a startup environment (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of QA methodology and CI testing techniques (preferred).
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems (preferred).
  • Experience building and testing automation with tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, JUnit, Codeception, Selenium, or similar (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Material Design (preferred).
  • Knowledge of module bundlers such as Webpack or similar (preferred).
  • Experience with geospatial data (preferred).
