Description

  • Architect and modernize enterprise data solutions on GCP using native services and third-party data technologies.
  • Work with implementation teams from concept through operations to deploy large-scale enterprise data solutions.
  • Build, provision, and secure reliable data-centric services and applications in GCP.
  • Partner with the data team to use cloud infrastructure for analysis, modeling, and reporting.
  • Integrate large datasets from multiple sources for data modeling and analytics.
  • Design, build, implement, and manage APIs and API proxies for internal and external use.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and validate end products, features, systems, and functionality.
  • Automate delivery components to reduce manual effort in development and production.
  • Translate business problems into technical data solutions in collaboration with product management.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines, architectures, machine learning models, and query/reporting workflows.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Business, or Mathematics.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and optimizing data models on GCP using services such as BigQuery and BigTable.
  • 3+ years of experience re-architecting and re-platforming on-premise data warehouses to GCP-based data platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience architecting data lakes on GCP for analytics, BI integrations, and scalable API solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience assessing current-state data platforms and defining transition paths to GCP.
  • 3+ years of experience building production data pipelines using Java, Python, Scala, or similar languages in a hybrid big data architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Spark, Cloud DataProc, Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, BigTable, Cloud BigQuery, Cloud PubSub, and Cloud Functions.
  • Experience implementing metadata management, data governance, and security for GCP data platforms.
  • Experience designing operations architecture and performing performance engineering for large-scale data lakes in production.
  • Experience operating large production Hadoop/NoSQL clusters on premise or in cloud services.
  • Preferred: strong knowledge of network, internet, and data storage security; software engineering best practices; agile methodologies; coding standards; source control; testing; and operations.
  • Preferred: strong communication skills with users, technical teams, and senior management, including remote collaboration across time zones.
  • Google Cloud Platform certification is a plus.
