Description

  • Directly lead and manage a team of Patient Support Associates to support medication adherence, refill management, prior authorization, and financial assistance.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and performance management for Patient Support team members.
  • Ensure service-level goals are met and that patients receive medications on time and with high-quality care.
  • Manage team administrative processes, including ADP, PTO, and time reports.
  • Review team workflows and complete audits in supported systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor, respond to, and resolve requests and communications across supported systems and clinical teams.
  • Coordinate and participate in collaboration calls, hospital management calls, team meetings, and follow-up documentation.
  • Work with on-site hospital partners and internal teams to establish efficient workflows and address concerns or process improvements.
  • Assist with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, training coordination, and access setup for new team members.
  • Absorb overflow work during staffing shortages, support special projects, and manage on-site pharmacy-related workflows and relations.

Requirements

  • Registered pharmacy technician in the state of employment and nationally certified as a CPhT.
  • 3+ years of pharmacy technician experience, with 3-5+ years preferred in specialty pharmacy.
  • Leadership experience strongly preferred, such as team lead or a similar role.
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred or actively in progress.
  • Training in leadership and management theory and its workplace application is preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Ability to make decisions and negotiate effectively with senior leaders.
  • Strong operational management, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, with moderate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with pharmacy dispensing or EMR systems is desirable; Willow, Qs1, and RX30 are a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion with highly sensitive health information.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% if not based in a Shields core location such as Stoughton or Phoenix.

Benefits

  • Annual salary range of $69,500 to $72,000.
  • Annual bonus potential.
  • Salary may vary based on specialized skills, training, experience, and education.
