Description

  • Conduct product demonstrations and lead live proof-of-concept trials for prospective customers.
  • Support senior sellers in growing existing accounts and winning new customers.
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs and RFPs.
  • Work with Product Management and other teams to help develop the Samsara platform.
  • Deliver value propositions and core platform capabilities on-site, remotely, and at field events such as conferences and trade shows.
  • Source, deliver, and share product information, testing outcomes, and takeaways with the broader Sales Engineering team.
  • Manage projects and build process improvements and automation that scale the SE team.
  • Maintain strong time management while carrying an individual quota and senior technical responsibilities.
  • Remain highly available to Sales and cross-functional teams and contribute to SE team enablement.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles across Sales and SE communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical, customer success, or customer/product support role.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical sales acumen, business process understanding, and change management knowledge.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems.
  • Working knowledge of integration standards and transports such as XML, REST, SOAP, and EDI.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs between SaaS applications.
  • Must be located within and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or advanced education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience with task automation scripting and data transfer using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • Preferred: Experience building solutions using open APIs.
  • Preferred: Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including CAN bus and PTO applications.
  • Preferred: Track record of selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles.
  • Preferred: Hobbyist interest in electronics-driven projects such as car audio, classic car restoration, home automation, Raspberry Pi, or Arduino.
