Description

  • Conduct product demonstrations and lead live proof-of-concept trials for prospective customers.
  • Support senior sellers in expanding existing accounts and winning new customers.
  • Respond to functional and technical portions of RFIs and RFPs.
  • Work with Product Management and other teams to help develop the Samsara platform.
  • Deliver platform value through on-site meetings, webinars, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Use creative and adaptive approaches to remove sales obstacles and advance technical deals.
  • Share learnings, takeaways, and best practices with the SE team through internal communication channels and team meetings.
  • Manage projects, product information delivery, testing of alpha products or features, and process improvements that scale the SE team.
  • Maintain strong availability to Sales and cross-functional teams while contributing to regional sales impact and SE enablement.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles in daily work and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical role, customer success role, or customer/product support role such as Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Solutions Engineer.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical sales acumen and understanding of business processes and change management.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems.
  • Working knowledge of integration standards and transports such as XML, REST, SOAP, and EDI.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs between SaaS applications.
  • Must be located within and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or advanced education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience with task automation scripting and transferring data between systems using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or a similar language.
  • Preferred: Experience building solutions using open APIs.
  • Preferred: Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including CAN bus and PTO applications.
  • Preferred: Hobbyist interest in electronic systems such as car audio, classic car restoration, home automation, Raspberry Pi, or Arduino.
  • Preferred: Track record of selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles.
