Description

  • Manage a team of strong ML researchers and support their growth through feedback, coaching, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Provide deep research leadership while setting clear expectations for ownership, delivery, and quality.
  • Drive execution and accountability by helping the team prioritize work, remove blockers, and deliver results.
  • Maintain a high technical and operational standard while balancing experimentation with shipping solutions.
  • Design and implement machine learning models, most often deep neural networks, for production systems at scale.
  • Translate research ideas into concrete, testable, and deployable solutions.
  • Lead research initiatives end to end from problem formulation through experimentation to production rollout.
  • Conduct and evaluate A/B tests with a focus on measurable business impact.
  • Develop and improve solutions for key optimization problems, including bidding in first-price auctions.
  • Communicate with product and engineering teams to align on goals, timelines, and expected impact.

Requirements

  • Strong background as a Senior ML Researcher with a proven record of shipping impactful solutions.
  • Experience leading teams or projects with a solid track record of delivering impact.
  • Solid understanding of statistics and probability.
  • Strong programming skills and a practical ML engineering mindset.
  • Strong orientation toward execution, decision-making, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Formal people management experience is not strictly required.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-year projects involving multiple contributors is valued.
  • Motivation to grow into a people management role is preferred.
  • Experience working on production ML systems is an advantage.
  • Experience with recommendation systems or real-time decision systems is an advantage.
  • Comfort operating in environments where results are measured and visible is an advantage.
  • Selected technologies include Python, Java, Scala, PyTorch, NumPy, Pandas, and Jupyter Notebooks.
