Description

  • Work directly with clients to introduce and guide agile engineering practices such as design thinking, TDD, paired programming, and continuous delivery.
  • Teach clients and teammates the value and workflow of modern software development practices.
  • Learn how each client communicates, learns, and gives feedback to collaborate effectively.
  • Pair with customer developers and engineers to develop user stories that balance business value, technical feasibility, and user needs.
  • Build, test, and deliver working software and reliable software solutions.
  • Ensure development is delivered week over week and incorporate feedback from real users in real time.
  • Collaborate with military service members and other developers to deliver value quickly.
  • Work with balanced teams to make informed engineering decisions based on validated assumptions.
  • Champion AI-augmented ways of working to accelerate delivery and reduce cycle time.
  • Support team growth by training, mentoring, and up-skilling others as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have an active DoD security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, and hired candidates must complete a background investigation.
  • 10+ years of software development experience across a variety of programming languages.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and agile methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills and interest in a pair-programming environment.
  • Experience with Java, Kotlin, Ruby, or Elixir.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, React.js, Vue, or Redux.
  • Experience with both frontend and backend development.
  • Experience using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and processes such as Git, Concourse, GitLabCI, SonarQube, Fortify, and ThreadFix.
  • Demonstrated experience with API development.
  • Comfort working in Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, databases, and design patterns.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and/or up-skilling engineers (preferred).
  • Experience developing cloud-native applications (preferred).
  • Experience leading a product or development team (preferred).
  • Experience building and deploying in a continuous delivery environment (preferred).
  • Experience working directly with clients (preferred).
  • Experience with DoD, especially at a DoD Software Factory (preferred).
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.
