Description

  • Inspect products during the manufacturing process to ensure each bus is built to specification.
  • Examine incoming and in-process materials for defects and quality issues.
  • Check parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes against drawings and specifications.
  • Document problems found in drawings, bills of materials, jigs, equipment, and processes, and report them to the appropriate department.
  • Track open quality issues through resolution and close them when corrected.
  • Test, measure, and analyze products and record pass/fail results.
  • Produce detailed inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
  • Recommend improvements to departments and processes to reduce root causes of quality issues.
  • Manage quality department employees, including performance management and hiring.
  • Perform audits and travel as needed to support job duties.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing with supervisory experience.
  • 3-5 years of statistics experience.
  • Experience with quality systems, preferably ISO 9001.
  • Six Sigma or other analysis experience preferred.
  • Advanced-level computer skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical inspection, discrepancy reporting, and related quality inspection methods.
  • Ability to read schematics and inspect dimensions and systems such as air/brake, propulsion, welding, and water tests.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments with loud job sites.
  • No additional eligibility qualifications are required.
