Description

  • Design research and evaluation plans for market transformation initiatives to support planning, implementation, and investment decisions.
  • Serve as the lead on research and evaluation methods for assigned initiatives, aligning research activities with initiative goals.
  • Provide technical oversight, quality management, and guidance for market research, evaluation, analysis, and reporting work.
  • Mentor team members and support best practices in research, evaluation, and analysis.
  • Serve as a liaison among market research, evaluation, forecasting, and strategy leads to align forecasts, plans, implementation, and findings.
  • Review research and evaluation plans, deliverables, reports, and recommendations.
  • Manage third-party contractors conducting primary market research and initiative evaluations.
  • Lead a team of energy program-focused process evaluation and market research professionals.
  • Own projects from concept through implementation, including plans, budgets, deliverables, and presentations.
  • Lead client and stakeholder meetings, support business development, and help expand work with existing and new clients.
  • Oversee primary and secondary data collection, conduct data analysis, and perform quality checks on results and deliverables.
  • Lead and support technical report writing and communicate findings internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in market research or evaluation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social and Environmental Sciences, Public Policy, or Economics; master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience developing and leading research, evaluation, and analysis plans using appropriate methods to address research objectives.
  • Experience leading and interpreting quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Experience conducting market research using secondary sources.
  • Experience conducting primary market research using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Experience designing research instruments using a variety of research techniques.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and sampling and their relevance to high-value research.
  • Competency with one or more data analysis software packages.
  • Excellent writing, data analysis, interpretation, and presentation skills.
  • At least 3 years of experience supervising research and analysis professionals is preferred.
  • California residency is preferred, though remote candidates with California experience will be considered.

  • Base salary range of $109,000 to $174,000.
