Description

  • Provide program-level support to utility clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and communications liaison between external stakeholders and internal engineering and business teams.
  • Build and maintain client and customer relationships to support ongoing program participation and energy savings implementation.
  • Develop strategic sales plans to maximize savings delivery within the assigned service area.
  • Identify project opportunities and provide business, technical, and program support to customers.
  • Track outreach interactions and forecasted projects in a CRM system.
  • Proactively manage stalled projects and take action to move them toward completion.
  • Help customers identify, prioritize, and manage energy-saving projects and remove barriers to implementation.
  • Review available project information, conduct site visits, and screen opportunities for eligibility and viability.
  • Communicate the value of identified projects to influence customer decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar technical discipline is required; Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, or a related outreach role is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities, including HVAC, lighting, motors, compressed air, and refrigeration.
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into concise conversations and emails.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop customer relationships effectively and easily.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to work remotely, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Must be able to travel locally within Iowa up to approximately 50% of the time.
  • Must be located in Central or Eastern Iowa, the Quad Cities area, or be willing to relocate.
  • Interest in sustainability and a passion for environmental impact.
  • Preferred credentials include CEM, CEA, CBCP, or similar certifications.
  • Preferred PE in Mechanical Engineering, especially in HVAC and Refrigeration or Thermal and Fluid Systems.
  • CRM software and reporting experience is preferred.
