Description

  • Architect, design, and develop end-to-end features across React/TypeScript, APIs, PostgreSQL, infrastructure, and data pipelines.
  • Design scalable, performant, and maintainable data models and schemas.
  • Build and maintain highly available systems serving millions of users and thousands of requests per second.
  • Maintain and evolve backend services supporting student practice and reporting.
  • Adopt AI tooling to improve development, delivery, and maintenance processes.
  • Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote strong engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and distributed engineering teams.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and resolve customer-facing incidents.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering web software for large user populations.
  • Strong full-stack experience with React or a comparable SPA framework and TypeScript.
  • Experience building backend services and APIs.
  • Strong data modeling skills and experience with relational databases; PostgreSQL preferred.
  • Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills within agile, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with event-based or event-driven architecture preferred.
  • Experience with AWS, including ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3/CloudFront, ElastiCache, Lambda, and Docker preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD using GitHub Actions and observability tools such as Datadog or Bugsnag preferred.
  • Authorization to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

  • Base salary range of $109,500–$150,550, varying by experience and location.
