Description

  • Ship features end to end in a framework-free, object-oriented PHP codebase.
  • Design and implement RESTful JSON endpoints with validation, pagination, error handling, and versioning.
  • Write and optimize SQL, manage indexes and transactions, and integrate with databases through PDO.
  • Work with MongoDB for document-oriented use cases, including schema design and aggregation pipelines.
  • Build and enhance front-end interactions using jQuery, HTML/CSS, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Integrate external APIs and webhooks, including OAuth/token flows, retries, idempotency, and rate-limit handling.
  • Deploy and operate applications in AWS using Elastic Beanstalk, S3, and DynamoDB.
  • Manage SSL/TLS certificates and DNS through Cloudflare, including renewals and caching rules.
  • Work with WordPress CMS where needed for content ingestion, headless endpoints, and custom templates.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, testing, documentation, and quality improvements.

Requirements

  • Core/Vanilla PHP 7.x/8.x experience with strong object-oriented programming practices, including namespaces, interfaces, traits, dependency injection, and SOLID principles.
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs with JSON, authentication patterns, and versioning.
  • Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, indexing, transactions, and PDO best practices.
  • Working knowledge of MongoDB, including schema design, aggregations, and performance basics.
  • Front-end experience with jQuery, semantic HTML, modern CSS, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Experience integrating external APIs, including OAuth, webhooks, retries, idempotency, and error handling.
  • AWS experience with Elastic Beanstalk deployments, S3 lifecycle management, DynamoDB usage, and logging/monitoring basics.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, including input validation, CSRF/XSS/SQL injection prevention, secrets management, and safe file handling.
  • Experience managing SSL/TLS and DNS through Cloudflare, including HSTS, redirects, caching/CDN rules, and certificate renewals.
  • WordPress CMS experience, including admin/configuration, theme/plugin interaction, or headless/REST usage.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows, including feature branches, code reviews, and CI basics.
  • Comfort with Linux/CLI for diagnostics and automation.
  • Nice to have: experience with queues/workers for background jobs.
  • Nice to have: testing experience with PHPUnit or similar, plus an integration testing mindset.
  • Nice to have: performance profiling with tools such as Xdebug or Blackfire and caching strategies such as OPcache or application-level caching.
  • Nice to have: observability basics such as structured logging, alerts, and dashboards.
