Description

  • Define and steer medium- and long-term architectural strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Lead modernization efforts for critical systems to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Serve as the technical authority for Engineering and Architecture Chapters, promoting standards and best practices.
  • Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders to build a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Promote AI-assisted engineering practices for code generation, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
  • Translate developer needs into golden paths, opinionated tooling, reference implementations, and scaffoldable templates.
  • Own API governance end to end, including contract-first workflows, linting, compatibility rules, schema registry usage, and contract testing.
  • Define SLIs and SLOs, establish error-budget policies, and automate incident follow-up tracking.
  • Standardize observability across services with consistent traces, metrics, logs, dashboards, and log correlation.
  • Lead policy-as-code adoption across CI/CD, Kubernetes admission, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
  • Engineer safe delivery practices, including trunk-based development, progressive rollouts, automated rollback, and gated deployments.
  • Strengthen service security through OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, secrets management, key rotation, and least-privilege IAM patterns.
  • Design and guide event-driven architectures, including Kafka topology, partitioning, retention, ordering, and idempotency.
  • Drive cost-aware architecture using capacity planning, autoscaling, storage and egress optimization, and service-level cost guardrails.
  • Harden platform resilience with multi-AZ patterns, disaster recovery, chaos exercises, and fallback strategies.
  • Deliver one-click developer environments to reduce onboarding and setup time.
  • Publish DevEx and SRE scorecards and run continuous improvement cycles with squads.
  • Run lightweight technical governance forums such as design clinics, API clinics, ADR/RFC hygiene, and platform councils.

Requirements

  • Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or Software Development.
  • Extensive hands-on software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Working knowledge of Python and asynchronous programming.
  • Strong foundation in object-oriented programming and relational database systems.
  • Solid understanding of web and mobile application architectures, including security and session management.
  • Expertise in Domain-Driven Design and microservices architecture for distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and executing architectural roadmaps aligned with business and developer-experience goals.
  • Deep practical experience with AWS cloud-native development.
  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS core services including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, SNS/SQS, CloudFormation, IAM, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and WAF.
  • Proven ability to design and operate multi-account AWS organizations using Control Tower, Service Catalog, SCPs, and cross-account IAM roles.
  • Advanced experience architecting VPC topologies, including Transit Gateway, subnet design, NAT gateway cost optimization, and egress control.
  • Hands-on experience implementing observability pipelines at scale with tools such as New Relic, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Familiarity with EKS internals, including node group management, autoscaling, and Kubernetes cost/latency optimization.
  • Proven experience managing multi-region and multi-environment deployments.
  • Expertise in AWS security hardening and compliance controls, including IAM least privilege, KMS encryption, CloudTrail auditing, GuardDuty detections, and automated remediation.
  • Deep understanding of container security, image signing, ECR scanning, and OPA/Rego policy design for admission controllers.
  • Advanced Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and Pulumi.
  • Proven ability to implement GitOps workflows with deterministic deployments and drift detection.
  • Strong policy-as-code practice across CI/CD and Kubernetes.
  • Expertise automating application stack provisioning through reusable IaC modules and pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of progressive delivery and service mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, or App Mesh.
  • Mastery of resilience and reliability patterns such as timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, bulkheads, back-pressure, outbox/saga orchestration, and graceful degradation.
  • Deep knowledge of event-driven and streaming architectures, including Kafka partitioning, compaction, retention, ordering guarantees, exactly-once semantics, and schema evolution.
  • Strong background in data performance engineering, including caching, connection pool tuning, pagination, latency budgeting, and throughput modeling.
  • Proficiency in OpenTelemetry design and RED/USE methodologies.
  • Experience with SLO-driven reliability, including SLIs, error budgets, and alert-fatigue reduction.
  • Proficiency with production monitoring tools such as New Relic, Grafana, Datadog, and CloudWatch.
  • Proven experience building self-service developer platforms or internal developer portals such as Backstage.
  • Experience implementing event-driven DevEx tooling such as ephemeral environments, automated CI insights, and preview deployments.
  • Strong knowledge of API lifecycle management and governance, including OpenAPI/AsyncAPI, contract testing, versioning, idempotency, and error modeling.
  • Expertise in CI/CD automation and DevSecOps with tools such as GitHub Actions, CodeBuild, and CodePipeline.
  • Proficiency in feature-flag governance and safe configuration rollout practices.
  • Experience integrating AI-assisted workflows such as GitHub Copilot Enterprise or LLM-based linters into development and CI pipelines.
  • Deep knowledge of identity and transport security, including OAuth2, JWT validation, mTLS, KMS/HSM key rotation, and secrets lifecycle management.
  • Practical compliance-by-design experience translating PCI-DSS, KYC/AML, GDPR, and LGPD into technical patterns.
  • Experience leading AWS Well-Architected Framework reviews across all pillars.
  • Strong FinOps mindset with capacity modeling, load curve analysis, right-sizing, storage/egress optimization, and cost attribution.
  • Practical understanding of service catalogs and dependency mapping for ownership visibility.
  • Exposure to edge computing and CDN optimization such as Lambda@Edge and CloudFront Functions.
