Description

  • Take the operator’s seat and perform the customer’s role before automating the workflow.
  • Work embedded inside client teams and participate in day-to-day operating processes.
  • Rebuild business functions from first principles with a Forward Deployed Executive and client stakeholders.
  • Design and ship production AI systems based on industry blueprints and client-specific constraints.
  • Evaluate non-deterministic systems by building or owning evaluation suites and measuring outcomes.
  • Work across unfamiliar codebases and contribute hands-on production code throughout the engagement.
  • Deploy cloud-native systems on AWS using containers, Kubernetes/ECS, IaC, and CI/CD.
  • Hold conversations with senior business and technical stakeholders to align on redesign and implementation.
  • Own the method and close gaps in underspecified engagements through autonomous execution.
  • Feed learnings from client work back into Provectus blueprints and delivery frameworks.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on production coding.
  • Willingness to spend weeks doing the customer’s job before writing code.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar business domains quickly and discuss them credibly with practitioners.
  • Experience shipping GenAI/LLM systems to production.
  • Experience building or owning an evaluation suite for a non-deterministic system.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience with cloud-native delivery on AWS; GCP or Azure is a plus.
  • Solid AI/ML foundations and understanding of model failure modes.
  • Strong hands-on production experience with Claude Code/Cowork.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • Preferred experience as a founder, CTO, or engineering leader returning to individual contribution.
  • Preferred deep domain experience in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or asset management.
  • Preferred consulting, professional services, or other embedded customer-facing delivery experience.
  • Preferred data platform experience with data lakes, warehouses, streaming, real-time analytics, data mesh, data contracts, governance, and data quality.
  • Preferred MLOps and classical ML experience with PyTorch, SageMaker, and MLflow.
  • Preferred experience with fine-tuning, distillation, or inference/serving optimization.
  • Preferred experience with graph databases such as Neo4j or AWS Neptune.
  • Preferred IaC depth with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
  • Preferred open-source contributions or public writing on applied AI.
