Description

  • Perform an operator’s role for two to four weeks to understand business processes and constraints firsthand.
  • Learn unfamiliar domains quickly and redesign business functions with operators and Forward Deployed Executives.
  • Build and deploy production GenAI applications, agentic workflows, retrieval systems, extraction pipelines, and supporting services.
  • Design evaluation harnesses, define success metrics, and use evaluation results to guide system development.
  • Write production code across backend services, data pipelines, and AI layers using tools suited to each customer.
  • Deploy containerized, observable, and maintainable systems on AWS or other required cloud platforms.
  • Feed insights and reusable solutions from client engagements back into Provectus industry blueprints.
  • Drive adoption and measure engineering work against customer business-unit KPIs.
  • Collaborate with customer engineers, operators, executives, and senior Provectus leaders.
  • Shape engagement commitments and technical approaches before implementation begins.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software development experience, including substantial ownership of production code.
  • Willingness to perform customers’ operational work before designing or building automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to become productive in unfamiliar business domains quickly.
  • Experience shipping GenAI or LLM systems to production, beyond prototypes or notebooks.
  • Experience building or owning evaluation suites for non-deterministic AI systems.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • AWS cloud-native delivery experience with containers, Kubernetes/ECS, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and operations; GCP or Azure experience is a plus.
  • Strong AI/ML foundations and ability to reason about model capabilities and failure modes.
  • Hands-on production experience with Claude Code and Cowork.
  • Ability to communicate credibly with business-unit leaders, CTOs, engineers, operators, and executives.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, autonomy, customer-facing work, and outcome ownership.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Preferred: founder, CTO, or engineering leadership experience with a return to individual contribution.
  • Preferred: experience in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or asset management.
  • Preferred: consulting or embedded professional-services delivery experience.
  • Preferred: data platforms, MLOps, classical ML, model optimization, graph databases, IaC, or applied-AI open-source/publication experience.
